What inspired you to open a shop?
I have always enjoyed being creative and doing things with my hands. After graduating college in 2008, the economy crashed and I found myself working an unfulfilling job because that was all that was available to me at the time. I spent my evenings knitting, creating jewelry and doing all sorts of crafts just to find a creative release from my boring desk job. On a complete whim one evening, I opened up an etsy shop after reading about it on a blog. For the next six months, I poured myself into that shop and learned everything I could about etsy, selling online and how to make great jewelry. I had enough success within those first six months that I quit my job three days before my wedding (not recommended!). Once I got back from my honeymoon, it was sink or swim time with my shop. I expanded my product line, retook photographs, learned a bit more about social media and had a booming holiday season. I haven't looked back since :) I still learn something new about etsy/owning your own business/selling online everyday, but I get a lot of fulfillment from where I am now with my career.

What is your current favorite item in your shop? Why? I love these wax seal necklaces. They are one of the best seller's in my shop and people really seem to love them. I love getting orders from brides who are giving these to their bridesmaids on her special day.

What is your favorite quote? "“But the Hebrew word, the word timshel—‘Thou mayest’— that gives a choice. It might be the most important word in the world. That says the way is open. That throws it right back on a man. For if ‘Thou mayest’—it is also true that ‘Thou mayest not.” ― John Steinbeck, East of Eden "
